Yellow Belt - Lean Six Sigma
Project Type
Project management, form creation, and increased efficiency
Description
As part of my Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, I managed the Senlac Missing Documents Project, identifying and migrating approximately 3,500 critical files into the document management system. This project addressed risks associated with missing documentation, streamlined processes, and improved overall system usability.
Process Highlights
I led the Senlac Missing Documents Project from initiation through execution. I began by conducting an audit that uncovered approximately 3,500 missing documents and developed a detailed project charter outlining risks, benefits, required resources, and a four-month timeline. To create consistency and improve efficiency, I established standardized rules and workflows for metadata capture and document loading. I collaborated with a small team of two document controllers and a business analyst through brainstorming sessions and coordinated execution to ensure accuracy and alignment. I also implemented quality assurance processes to minimize errors that could disrupt end-user workflows or lead to costly rework. Throughout the project, I tracked progress using metric graphs and regularly communicated updates to stakeholders to maintain transparency and ensure we stayed on schedule.

I also implemented quality assurance processes to minimize errors that could disrupt end-user workflows or lead to costly rework. Throughout the project, I tracked progress using metric graphs and regularly communicated updates to stakeholders to maintain transparency and ensure we stayed on schedule. The project was completed on time, with all documents successfully migrated into the system. The templates and processes developed during this initiative were later adopted for future data migrations and acquisitions, generating ongoing efficiencies. This experience sparked my interest in project management and process optimization, ultimately leading to my attainment of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
